At present, the fiercely rising competition demands practical skills along with the academic knowledge. Practical knowledge and skills, in today’s times, are the life and breathe of the professional world. Companies, today, would like to hire candidates who are ready to take up the responsibilities of the job with minimal in-house training. And this is possible only when besides gaining from the academics, students also get to gain an exposure into the actual corporate world.
In order to prepare students to enter the workforce and to develop their other critical skills necessary for effective and productive professionals, Department of Business Administration (DBA) of Bangladesh Army International University of Science & Technology (BAIUST) has organized the “Skill Enhancement Program” for the outgoing batch. The program has been scheduled from 29th July, 2019 to 4th August, 2019. The program was 6 days long and has covered the following topics: SPSS for business research, MS Office Suit for Corporate world, email writing, business writing, English speaking and art of presentation. The trainers have conducted dummy job interviews to give the students practical experience of job interviews. The above-mentioned topics have been discussed by the respected faculties of Department of Business Administration (DBA). Besides the faculty members, two corporate professionals have shared their valuable knowledge and experiences. Mr.M.Aminur, Senior Management Consultant, Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM) has enlightened the students regarding professional etiquette and office management whereas Mr. Muhammad Anamul, Assistant General Manager (Sales), Bdjobs has discussed about the job market and job search process. After the successful completion of the program, Professor Dr. Bishawjit Chandra Deb, Advisor, Department of Business Administration (DBA), BAIUST has awarded the students with certificates.
